are photos I took of my Norton with the numbers and "number plates"
Kris and Graham made for me. I removed the "Thistle Racing Limited"
signage on the fairing, because a friend had warned me that the judging
would be more on beauty than anything else, and the fairing looks better
without any lettering, though of course when I raced this bike, it wore
the TRL logo and lettering.
The bike won a bronze medal (third
place) in the very strict judging, in Class 7 (British
Competition/Modified, 1958-75), which was considered to be a big deal,
I'm told. There were some spectacular machines in the class, so I can
say without doubt that your shop's fine work helped considerably -- not
least because the judges were very picky about "correct" looks for the
period.
